In this context, folk tunes like 'Multitude' and 'A Country Practice' sound slightly out of place.. When a band's favorite pop culture touchstones include sidekick Bob Todd, are somehow just too obvious.. Matthew Millington Oct 4, 2011 8:26pm I am a huge fan of HMHB, and it is a great article.

By (6 Music session version) GREGG Z Sep 27, 2011 2:22am Superbly written and very insightful assessment of my favorite band of all time.. (Perhaps the answer might have been to release the two albums with the indie pop tunes on one and the folk-rock experiments on the other?) Regardless, there is enough of interest here to appeal to the converted, but newcomers should perhaps start elsewhere.. Though 's pop-culture-riffing lyrics are as clever as ever (see 'Four Skinny Indie Kids' and 'Secret Gig' for particularly ace bits of scene-skewering), the musical emphasis this time is on the band's noisy guitar pop songs as opposed to the predominantly acoustic folk sound that permeated the previous album, and even die-hard fans might feel like they've heard these japes before.. A Country Practice by Half Man Half Biscuit This jam was posted by 6 people but Sarah was first.. As one of probably a few thousand (hundred?) American fans of HMHB, I often wonder if it is possible to appreciate them more, given I only understand about 1/3 of the unretrievably British cultural references.
